Susan Copping is a native of New Orleans who lives on the North Shore of Lake Pontchartrain. Holding a B.A. in Art from the University of New Orleans, she is also a graduate of the John McCrady Art School.

Susan has been a watercolorist for the past thirty years. In that time she has developed a unique style of painting using geometric shapes and their spatial relationships to eloquently describe her favorite subjects: plant life, animals and the insect world. Her peers hold her talent in high regard and she is a well-known and respected member of the local art community.

Working for many years at Delgado Community College in New Orleans, she taught design and color theory courses and is currently teaching at Water Street Pottery (Madisonville,La). She is a member of the St. Tammany Art Association and a Signature Member of the Louisiana Watercolor Society. She is a past president of LWS and now serves on its Board of Directors.

Lately Susan has turned to the mandala as an expressive form. Using watercolor to create mono types of many transparent layers, these ethereal works evoke richness and mystery. Click here to view Mandalas!
